Early September generally represents a time when business ramps back up as summer vacations come to a close, and the kids go back to school.
We’re fairly optimistic—considering that the financial outlook looks relatively positive for Canada right now (despite that GDP growth slowed in the second quarter.)
How do we know things are picking up? Well, for one, we are profiling some companies this month making record profits in a number of industries, including manufacturing.
The other reason we know is because the cities we spoke to for this issue (Kenora, Kelowna, Amherst and Mount Pearl), are all “open for business” and actively seeking development, as their populations amass.
Speaking of regional development, we are really excited to bring you our focus on Nova Scotia. You can flip to our opening section and not only read an interview with Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter, but also get a sense of the types of industries that are growing in the province—including agriculture and technology.
As we gear up for a great month, we’d like to tease you a little bit and say that CBJ has some very big developments coming up—we just can’t tell you what they are yet.
But, in the meantime, if you’d like to comment or send us a business story, send me an email at sarak@georgemedia.ca.
Get the kids in their school gear, and then take some time to read about successes in Canadian business, we’ll see you next month.
