Plaza Premium Group now operates in more than 130 locations in 35 airports globally and has over 3,500 employees. The success of their business model has prompted airport authorities around the world to open their doors to independent lounge facilities and value-added airport services as part of a bid to enhance the overall traveller experience as well as airport service quality.

Across Canada, Plaza Premium lounges are located at Vancouver International Airport, Edmonton International Airport, Winnipeg Richardson International Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport. “Our latest lounge at Toronto Pearson that showcases our fourth generation design elements,” says Song Hoi-see. The lounge amazes guests with marble and dark wood accents, New Zealand wool carpet, comfortable sofa chairs, loungers and an open dining area.
Expansive windows overlook the runway below across five separate seating zones that can accommodate up to 200 guests. Travellers can enjoy barista service for specialty coffees and teas or bar service at the beverage counter. Shower facilities are also available complete with towels, soaps and shampoos. “At 6,200 sq. ft. this is our largest lounge at Toronto Pearson and our showcase for a host of new service initiatives,” says Song Hoi-see.

It’s All about Service

Alongside PPG’s expanding Independent Airport Lounge business, they are working to develop Aerotel, a one-of-a-kind airport transit hotel that provides convenientand comfortable airport accommodation particularly for travellers withlong transit duration or flights during more off hours. “Unlike traditional hotels, Aerotel is specifically created for the airport environment and craftedwith the goal of making the airport journey enjoyable,” says Song Hoi-see. The first Aerotel locations has been soft-opened in Singapore on 21st October 2015, and are set to open Abu Dhabi in late 2015 and London Heathrow in 2016.

“Allways” VIP Meet and Greet Service is another service we recently launched that is dedicatedto delivering the perfect airport experience for travellers,” says Song Hoi-see. “Our welcomingand friendly team is always at hand to ensure our guests’ journey ishassle-free and seamless.” The “Allways” service is currently offered in New Delhi and Toronto Pearson; to be followed by airports in Singapore, Macau, Kuala Lumpur, Muscat and London Heathrow

A New Sophistication in Airport Dining

PPG provides comprehensivedining labels, offering a selection of top quality cuisines to complement the existing airport facilities across the globe. “We launchedFlight Club, a new dining brand specifically designed for airports, “says Song Hoi-see. “The brand features a healthy airport dinning concept in which all of the dishes are inspired by herbs and seeds.”

The first Flight Club will be officially opened in KL International Airport in December 2015.With a warm and approachable ambience, travellers are able to indulge in an individual dining experience according to their personal preferences. They can conveniently pick up and enjoy the freshest international selection in a well-designed, sleek and stylish lifestyle kiosk while also receivingan educational experience to learn more about the types of food on the menu. The decor emanates the environment of an airport complete with runway lights amongsta hip and chic interior design style. “Flight Club is dedicated to providing travellerswith an unforgettable airport dining experience,” says Song Hoi-see.

PPG plans to continue to expand their business to a total of 200 locations by 2018, encompassing management and operation of independent airport and airline lounges, airport transit hotels, airport meet and greet service locations and airport dining facilities.
