A Top Small & Medium Employer for 2013

Vista Projects Limited, a privately owned, technical engineering oil and gas firm based in Calgary, has the honour of being named amongst the 50 Best Small and Medium Employers (BSME) in Canada for 2013. It’s also the fourth consecutive year Vista has made the prestigious list during the eight years in which the acknowledgments have been handed out.

Vista is a multi-disciplined, full-service engineering and procurement company serving oil sands and conventional oil & gas producers with a staff more than 350.

The company specializes in engineering oil sands (SAGD, CSS), heavy oil and enhanced oil recovery projects. Work includes grassroots facilities (small, mid-size and large) as well as sustaining capital projects. Since its founding in 1985, Vista has engineered more than 300,000 BPD of in-situ bitumen and heavy oil, working on some of the most successful projects in the Alberta oil sands

“This is both an honour and a mandate to continue building and improving our company,” says Vista’s Chief Operating Officer, Richard Campbell. “Vista wants to be a great place to work and we recognize that the best way to achieve our goal is by working with our people to invest in initiatives that make a difference. The BSME study is a very important tool that helps Vista gather valuable feedback from our staff, allowing us to continue being one of the best employers in Canada.”

Making the BSME top-50 list is a very detailed and competitive process. This national awards program recognizes top employers with between 50 and 399 employees.

The rankings are primarily determined by using the results from the anonymous employee opinion surveys. The evaluation process also includes the assessment of organizational practices and perspectives from the leadership team. This year, more than 200 organizations across Canada participated in the study.

“Vista is proud to be a locally-owned engineering firm focused on Western Canada’s energy industry,” says Campbell. “I think being consistently recognized as a top employer is a result of our ownership model. All our shareholders are actively involved in the day-to-day operations of our business, working closely with Vista’s people to deliver quality results for our clients. It is an empowering partnership for our people and one that is continuously improving.”

Study partners include Queen’s School of Business, Queen’s Centre for Business Venturing and AON Hewitt. More information about the Best Small & Medium Employers in Canada is available online at http://bsmestudycanada.com.
