CBJ — According to preliminary data it appears most Canadian and U.S. shoppers made more purchases online on Black Friday than in the shopping malls. Black Friday is now the most successful revenue day in the U.S., surpassing pre-Christmas and Boxing Day sales.

Online sales rose more than 20% reaching $7.4 billion on Black Friday, slightly shy of estimates of $7.6 billion.

Leading brick-and-mortar retailers like Walmart, Target and Best Buy have spent billions of dollars trying to expand their e-commerce operations to capture that growing online revenue.
