Bombardier Lands Chinese Deal
CBJ — Montreal-based Bombardier is part of a joint venture that has won a $427 million U.S. contract to manufacture train cars for China.
The successful bid by the joint venture – known as Bombardier Sifang Transportation — is the third major contract acquired by the conglomerate.
Bombardier holds a 50% stake in BST.
The contract is to provide 160 rail cars by the middle of the year. The operating speed of the trains will be 350 km/h with production to take place in China.
