COACH: Canada's Health Informatics Association
Founded in 1975, COACH: Canada’s Health Informatics Association has made itself a vibrant and key resource for health care professionals. The association has a history of strong leadership, and Don Newsham, its chief executive officer, is happy to sing its praises. “It’s about the profession and the professional that we are working for and with across this country,” he says. Health care institutions across Canada are using health informatics to transform, sustain, and modernize the health care system. COACH’s aim is to promote a clear understanding and adoption of health informatics—how Canadian health institutions effectively use information technology and systems—and its importance to health care.
