Canada Post Hit By Rotating Strikes
CBJ — The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has some of its 50,000 Canada Post employees on a series of rotating strikes at various locations across the country.
The measured strike action began at 12:01am local time Monday in Victoria, Edmonton, Windsor and Halifax.
A representative from CUPW says mail will still be delivered, albeit with delays. Mail service will not be disrupted in other areas, at least for now.
Big sticking points for the union are wage increases and dealing with the increased workload, as well as health and safety.
CUPW wants a 3.5% pay increases, whereby Canada Post has offered 1.5%.
