CannTrust Products Returned
CBJ — The news keeps getting worse for CannTrust Holdings of Niagara on word the Ontario government’s cannabis retailer — Ontario Cannabis Store — is returning all of the company’s products because they do not conform with the terms of its master cannabis supply agreement.
The value of the returned products is estimated to be about $3 million.
CannTrust has made headlines recently for its problems with Health Canada. The federal regulator found problems at the company’s greenhouse in Pelham, south of St. Catharines and west of Niagara Falls, earlier this year and later raised issues regarding a manufacturing facility in a plant north of Toronto.
Health Canada has placed a hold on CannTrust’s inventory of dried cannabis and the company has also instituted a voluntary hold as the investigation continues.
