CPPIB Partnering To Acquire Informatica

CBJ – Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and a private equity firm in Europe are partnering in a $5.3-billion deal to take business software company Informatica private.

Informatica, which is based in California, confirmed it has reached an all-cash deal to be controlled by Permira Advisers and CPPIB.

The agreement values Informatica at $48.75 per share.

Informatica is a world-leading provider of enterprise data integration software and services. Among Informatica’s specialty areas are Cloud integration, data integration for Big Data projects and mobile device management.

The deal is expected to close in the second or third quarter of the year, subject to the standard regulatory and shareholder approvals.

CPPIB manages the investment portfolio of the Canada Pension Plan.
