Former Subway Pitchman Denied Appeal to Overturn Convictions
CBJ — A U.S. federal judge in Indianapolis has rejected an appeal that former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle filed himself in an attempt to overturn his child pornography and sex abuse convictions.
The Indianapolis Star reported Fogle’s motion was filed Nov. 6 and put together essentially by himself, without the high-profile — and high-priced — lawyers who represented him when he pleaded guilty in November 2015 to trading in child pornography and paying for sex with underage girls.
Fogle is currently serving a 15-year sentence at a federal prison in Littleton, Colorado.
The 40-year-old Fogle became the face of Subway’s television advertising campaigns after losing 90kg — or about 200 pounds — in part by eating Subway sandwiches.
