G2 GOLDFIELDS PROVIDES OKO EXPLORATION UPDATE
NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO U.S. NEWS WIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE U.S.TORONTO, April 08, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — G2 Goldfields Inc. (TSXV: GTWO) (the “Company” or “G2”) is pleased to provide an update on the Company’s ongoing drilling project at the Oko project, Guyana. The 19,200-acre project contains multiple areas of gold mineralization, the most prominent of which include the Aremu Mine Zone and the Oko Deformation Zone (ODZ). The ODZ has been subject to a drilling program which commenced in March 2019 whereas drilling in the Aremu Mine Zone is scheduled for Q3 2020.The Oko area is characterized by multiple open-pits and shafts along a prominent 2 km long north-south trending deformation zone. G2 has completed a total of 35 drill holes (6312m) to date, of which 16 (3313m) are pending assays. Diamond drilling continues to strongly support the geological model developed in the later part of the 2019 drilling program, with visible gold (VG) intersected in each of the sixteen holes completed since mid-January. All core intersections containing VG are being subject to metallic screening in order to account for the coarse nature of the gold. The Company has constructed a photographic gallery of visible gold in core which is accessible by clicking here, or at the following link https://www.g2goldfields.com/core-gallery/A plan view map of the drilling program at ODZ is available here, or at the following link https://www.g2goldfields.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/PlanViewMap.pdfAdditional Targets at Oko SouthG2 also announces it has commenced a 10-hole (2000m) drilling program at a newly acquired property contiguous to, and approximately one kilometer south of, the area of recent drilling. Initial reports from Oko south confirm similar styles of mineralization as encountered at ODZ as well as numerous open-pits and at least three vertical shafts. Initial drilling will focus on areas with historical gold workings.QA/QCDrill core is logged and sampled in a secure core storage facility located on the Oko project site, Guyana. Core samples from the program are cut in half, using a diamond cutting saw, and are sent to MSALABS Guyana, in Georgetown, Guyana, which is an accredited mineral analysis laboratory, for analysis. Samples from sections of core with obvious gold mineralization are analyzed for total gold using an industry standard 500g metallic screen fire assay (MSALABS method MSC 550). All other samples are analysed for gold using standard Fire Assay-AA with atomic absorption finish (MSALABS method; FAS-121). Samples returning over 10.0 g/t gold are analyzed utilizing standard fire assay gravimetric methods (MSALABS method; FAS-425). Certified gold reference standards, blanks and field duplicates are routinely inserted into the sample stream, as part of G2 Goldfield’s quality control/quality assurance program (QAQC). No QA/QC issues were noted with the results reported herein.About G2 Goldfields Inc.All scientific and technical information in this press release has been prepared under the supervision of Dan Noone (CEO of G2 Goldfields Inc.), a “qualified person” within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101.
