Gas Pricing Soars in B.C.
CBJ — Prices at the gas pumps hit an all-time high in the Greater Vancouver Area last weekend, where a number of stations were selling the liquid gold for $1.64 per litre. That tops the previous high of $1.62 this past April.
The latest dramatic upturn in pricing is blames on a pipeline explosion near Prince George, B.C. on Oct. 9 that put two natural gas lines operated by Enbridge out of commission.
Frustrated drivers looking for gas pain relief won’t likely get it anytime soon. It’s expected the prices will remain at or about the same level until the pipeline is back online.
Vancouver currently has the highest gas prices of any urban centre in North America.
