Hudbay Announces Offering of US$600 Million Aggregate Principal Amount of Senior Notes
TORONTO, Feb. 22, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Hudbay Minerals Inc. (“Hudbay” or the “company”) (TSX, NYSE:HBM) today announced that it is offering US$600 million aggregate principal amount of senior notes (the “New Notes”). The interest rate and other terms of the New Notes will be determined at pricing and are dependent upon market conditions and other factors.
Hudbay plans to use the net proceeds from the offering of the New Notes to refinance all of its outstanding US$600 million aggregate principal amount of 7.625% senior notes due 2025 (the “Existing Notes”).The redemption of the Existing Notes is conditioned upon the successful closing of the offering of the New Notes, contemporaneous with or prior to the redemption date, and certain other terms and conditions set forth in the company’s redemption notice.The New Notes will not be registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the “Securities Act”), or the securities laws of any other jurisdiction.
