The Lone Star Mercedes-Benz team aims to carry on the Mercedes-Benz legacy. The Calgary dealership is well known throughout Southern Alberta for its high-quality service and dedication to making every customer experience memorable.

The Dealership

For over 40 years, Lone Star Mercedes-Benz has provided customers with an enjoyable, trustworthy buying experience. The dealership originally established itself in the Calgary Automall, yet by 2007, Lone Star needed space to expand. The team relocated to luxury lane on Heritage Meadows Road East, just south of the Glenmore Trail.

The modern-design of the facility reflects the sleek look of a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. The walls are comprised of large, pane-glass windows upheld by deep blue pillars, allowing natural light to illuminate the dealership. With over 55,000 square feet of total space, a 10,000 square foot showroom, and approximately 30 different Mercedes-Benz models on display, the building stands out among its competitors.

Lone Star’s facilities also include 17 service bays, a range of Mercedes-Benz Certified pre-owned inventory, and an extensive retail boutique.

The Lone Star team continually upgrades their facilities to pre-emptively satisfy customer expectations. In the past few years, they’ve added a second building for the display of pre-owned vehicles, a four-level parkade to protect customer cars from inclement weather, and are currently adding extra car washes to decrease wait time.

“I’ve been with Lone Star for six years, and one of the main things I’ve noticed is the continual commitment to improving the customer experience on every level. Whenever we expand or upgrade the facility, we do so with the customers’ expectation in mind,” explains Carey Bymoen, Sales Consultant for Lone Star Mercedes-Benz.

“It feels almost like a modern art-gallery here,” adds Simon Clarke, Sales Manager, “The Mercedes-Benz brand is associated with all things fine and luxurious. That’s a tough legacy to meet – but here at Lone Star, we make it happen.”

Lone Star Mercedes-Benz carries a full range of Mercedes-Benz luxury vehicles, Sprinter vans, and Smart cars. The dealership is currently the largest private retailer of Mercedes-Benz products in Western Canada, and the largest AMG (Mercedes-Benz brand performance division) retailer in the country. The dealership employs approximately 120 staff members.

Customer Care

At Lone Star Mercedes-Benz, the point of sale is only a small part of the customer experience. The team ensures all customer needs are met before, during, and well after their purchase.

For over 10 years, Mercedes-Benz has awarded Lone Star with the honorary title of Star Dealer. This award acknowledges Lone Star as an elite dealer within Canada. Sales Consultant Carey Bymoen is considered a President’s Circle Member, honoring his outstanding sales and customer service prestige within the global Mercedes-Benz network. Sales Manager Simon Clarke is also a President’s Circle Member for his brand promotion and leadership of top-notch sales people and delivery specialists.

“We live up to the reputation of Mercedes-Benz. Our clients have high expectations, and we’ll do whatever we can to meet those,” says Bymoen, “I’m always on-call when it comes to clients – I’ll do whatever I can to match their schedule.”

The staff at Lone Star build relationships with customers. They take the time to learn their needs, and go above and beyond to meet customer requirements. The dealership offers concierge service, bringing vehicles to clients who are unable or do not have the time to visit the dealership.

Mitch Amos, Delivery Specialist at Lone Star, provides customers with assistance after purchasing or leasing their new or pre-owned Mercedes-Benz vehicle.

“There are a lot of first-time Mercedes-Benz owners in Western Canada. The technology in the cars can seem daunting to some,” explains Amos, “My role is to pick up where the sales team leaves off. Essentially, I walk customers through how their new vehicle works. I’m there to answer any question they have, whether it’s how to put in gas or working the high-definition stereos.”

“At Lone Star, our goal is to ensure all customers are comfortable in their new Mercedes-Benz,” Clarke adds.

Community Events

The Lone Star Mercedes-Benz team has always been highly active in community charities and events. The dealership hosts several fundraisers within the facility throughout the year in support of locally-based initiatives.

In early June, Lone Star held a charity fundraiser to support Making Changes Calgary, an organization that assists in empowering women in transition by providing relevant programs, services and resources. Making Changes offers women training to upgrade their business skills, and, through donations, provides outfits and accessories to help them dress professionally.

“We filled one of our Sprinter vans with pre-loved clothing, and raised cash donations of over $75,000,” explains Clarke, “There were about 400 attendees. We hosted a live fashion show, provided an oyster bar, and a champagne diamond dip. The dealership was transformed for the evening to benefit a great cause.”

“This is something we’re extremely proud of doing, and plan to keep doing in the future,” he adds.

Lone Star Mercedes-Benz regularly supports other charities and organizations in Calgary and its surrounding area with a particular focus on children and youth.
