Ronmor Developers is a leading property developer across Western Canada. Working in the commercial and residential sectors, Ronmor Developers serves the full gamut as a builder of major retail districts as well as inclusive residential neighbourhoods. In recent years, Ronmor Developers has combined these efforts to become an industry leader in mixed-use developments, which now highlights the company’s project portfolio.
Westgate Shopping Centre
Keeping with the latest trends, Ronmor Developers invests in property redevelopment. At Edmonton’s Westgate Shopping Centre, the company invested in the greening of the property as well as upgrades to the facility’s HVAC equipment, common areas, roofing, paving, and exterior facade, giving the Westgate Shopping Centre a rejuvenated and modern face lift. Ronmor’s redevelopments include advanced high efficiency systems geared toward sustainability and building with the environment in mind.
“We want to keep these properties fresh and absolutely the best they can be,” Doug Porozni, Vice-President of Development with Ronmor Developers, told The Canadian Business Journal.
Situated north of the West Edmonton Mall, the Westgate Shopping Centre is one of Ronmor Developers’ most recent projects, comprised of major restaurant tenants such as Starbucks, Boston Pizza, and McDonald’s, as well as tenants in the retail and financial services industries. Across its four main buildings, the Westgate Shopping Centre covers more than 115,000 square feet of retail and office space. Ideally located, the site is exposed to nearly 60,000 vehicle travellers each day.
Another development, the Silverado Marketplace in Calgary, is in its final stages. The property covers nearly 130,000 square feet and will be anchored by Sobeys supermarket. The development spans across several centres with a variety of major tenants, including Shoppers Drug Mart, BMO Financial Group, and TD Canada Trust, additionally linked by landscaped pedestrian walkways.
“The community of Silverado is growing quickly and Ronmor is busy sourcing great tenants for the remainder of the centre,” reads the Ronmor Developers website.
The Shoppes of Bridlewood
Another leased property, the Shoppes of Bridlewood, include several key tenants such as Sobeys, Scotiabank, Tim Hortons, and Subway restaurant. The centre is spread across more than 100,000 square feet of developed land. Its diverse offering attracts shoppers from Calgary as well as its neighbouring communities. The Ronmor Developers website reads, “The architectural design of the Shoppes of Bridlewood is aesthetically pleasing with pathways and meeting areas incorporated into its overall design.”
The Shoppes of Marda Loop
Another leased development based in Calgary, the Shoppes of Marda Loop is a multi-level, mixed use development that includes two floors of commercial space (retail and office) and four floors of residential space. The Shoppes of Marda Loop is described as one of Calgary’s premier mixed-use developments.
Shoppers Drug Mart serves as its anchor tenant and major retail component, while the development also features a variety of smaller shops. Completed in 2010, the Shoppes of Marda Loop capitalizes on heavy pedestrian traffic in Calgary’s southwest.
“The Shoppes of Marda Loop has put the community on the map for mixed-use developments as well as premier neighbourhood revivals,” the Ronmor Developers website summarizes.
One of Ronmor’s most recent developments, the Rainbow Square of Whistler, B.C., is situated in the heart of Rainbow community. Surrounded by playgrounds, parks, green space, and residential facilities, the Rainbow Square property includes 25,000 square feet of retail and commercial space. The site is anchored by IGA Garden Market. Covering four floors of condominiums, Rainbow Square also integrates mixed-use offerings including restaurants and cafés, a medical office and pharmacy, and a variety of retail centres and shops. It is anticipated that this development will be completed by spring 2014.
“Smart Growth Principles are being applied to the development of this centre and are key to the sensitive, sustainable design,” summarizes the company website. “Ronmor aims to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver status by incorporating energy-saving and innovative ideas into the overall design of Rainbow Square.”
Porozni commented on the company’s expansive portfolio of mixed-use developments, “Our goal is to reduce our operating cost to the tenant, which is simply smart business because tenants are demanding it.”
Working alongside Ronmor Developers, the company works hand in hand to meet its clients’ needs. The company recognizes the importance of providing efficient and low cost service to its tenant base.
“We listen to what our clients want. We always put ourselves in the shoes of the end users and what functions best for them. We get what is most efficient for them, to ultimately enhance their business,” Porozni concluded. “Our track record of getting clients what they need is why we have so many repeat tenants and why we’ve been so successful.”
