Schwarzenegger New Apprentice Host
CBJ — NBC has found Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice replacement, landing a former California governor and international movie star to be the new host.
Yes, the Terminator himself, 68-year-old Arnold Schwarzenegger has been named the new host of the reality series, which will return to the network next year.
“We are thrilled to be opening a powerful new chapter in the story of the Apprentice franchise,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. “Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business, and his accomplishments in the political arena speak for themselves. It was Arnold’s personal passion for the format that Mark Burnett and Donald Trump built over the last decade, as well as his fresh take on how to take it to new heights for today’s audiences, that made him the man to hire. The Celebrity Apprentice … will be back!”
The 69-year-old Trump was not brought back after disparaging remarks he made about Mexican immigrants. NBC says they did not offer The Donald a new contract. He says that he wouldn’t have accepted a new contract anyhow, as he would be far too busy in his run for the presidency. Either way, Donald is out — Arnie is in.
