Brightspace chosen to help Texas A&M AgriLife to deliver quality training to Texas communities

Kitchener, Waterloo, Nov. 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —

(November 30, 2018) — Global learning technology leader D2L today announced that Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, a huge network of postsecondary educators in communities all across Texas, will be using the Brightspace platform to reach learners in every corner of the state.

“While we’ve gained some success in online learning over the years, the D2L platform allows us to combine our online learning into one, seamless system that will improve user experience and allow us to reach a broader audience,” said Parr Rosson, interim director of AgriLife Extension. “We saw the value of e-learning and the value of multiplying our efforts at an agency-wide level instead of having pockets of success in different parts of the state. That, ultimately, led us to Brightspace.”

For Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, the Brightspace platform stood out among other learning management systems (LMSes) because it can be implemented quickly, provides a great user experience and met the strong regulatory requirements of the state.

“For us, the goal has always been access to education — to bring the very best content right to people across Texas. Our model for doing that — a community-based approach — has stayed the same for more than 100 years.” said Rosson. “Now we will be able to amplify our impact by taking the geographic boundaries and the time boundaries away from this content and really offering it to everyone who needs it. And we’re thrilled that D2L is working with us to do that.”
