UK’s Tesco Cuts 4,500 Jobs

Tesco is cutting another 4,500 jobs in the United Kingdom in an attempt to be more flexible in an evolving retail environment.

Great Britain’s largest supermarket chain says most of the job losses will be from its Metro stores, where Tesco plans to run them as a more downscale convenient type location.

The 4,500 jobs lost are in addition to 9,000 reductions announced earlier this year.
